Happy 4th!

We had a jam-packed Fourth of July this year, which we were really thankful for. Eliza must have sensed the holiday-ness because she slept in until 7 am. Wahoo! We left a little while later to go the Schow breakfast and the local parade. It was no Macy's parade, but it was a lot of fun :) Eliza enjoyed seeing some of the animals go by (horses, Greyhound dogs, a pony, and one sweet llama); she laughed when she saw the clown; and she cried hysterically at the man on stilts. No men on stilts...I'll have to remember that next year. Here are some pics of the parade:




Eliza discovered ants for the first time, but they kept eluding her. The rolly polly, however, was not spared.



After the parade Eliza took a little nap and we took off for the ward party, where Eliza ate an inhuman amount of pasta salad. I'll have to put that on my list of foods that Eliza will actually eat. After the ward party we went to our future landlord's house. He has a beautiful backyard with a ginormous pool. This pool was like a magnet for Eliza and she could think of nothing but walking straight into it, with or without Mommy or Daddy. Unfortunately, this created great amounts of stress for me and we left soon after. But only after Eliza drenched herself, clothes and all. We got cleaned up at home, played tennis with some friends, put Eliza to sleep, and topped off our Independence Day with 24. Nothing says patriotism like Jack Bauer...
